TOUCHDOWN - NEW FOR 2008 Sunglasses with Interchangeable Lenses

The latest design in our range, Touchdown sunglasses have been specifically manufactured for radio controlled modellers, with interchangeable lenses for different light conditions - with the Category 0 yellow lenses fitted, you can even enjoy the benefits of light enhancement on a cloudy day.

Featuring 100% UVA / UVB protection, the polycarbonate glasses feature a wrap-around design that blocks unwanted and annoying light and wind from the sides. The scratch-resistant lenses are de-centred, which optically compensates for the curvature of the lens. Conforming to US ANSI Z80.3 plus British and European safety standard EN1836, our sunglasses are factory impact-tested, and offer great protection against flying debris should you suffer a mishap. All of our glasses carry the renowned 'CE' European union compliance mark; every batch is subjected to a rigorous impact test before leaving the factory.

The interchangeable lenses are: yellow (category 1) low light - these actually enhance light and contrast; beige (category 2) average sunlight; smoked mirror (category 3) bright sunlight; dark smoked (category 4), very bright conditions.

All glasses come with 4 x sets of lenses as standard, a cleaning cloth, a neck / head strap and a carry case with belt clip and internal compartments for housing the extra lenses.

NIMBUS Sunglasses - with TWO sets of polarised lenses and light-enhancing

The Nimbus polarised set represents our top-of-the-range frame. Nimbus sunglasses have been specifically designed and manufactured for radio controlled modellers, with interchangeable lenses for different light conditions - with the Category 0 yellow lenses fitted, you can even enjoy the benefits of light enhancement on a cloudy day.

Polarised sunglasses greatly reduce glare, which is an effect caused by light hitting horizontally flat surfaces. Polarised lenses filter out this light to greatly enhance your visibility.

Other manufacturers of interchangeables rarely offer polarised lenses as standard - they certainly don't give you TWO sets for your money! For that reason, we believe our Nimbus glasses are some of the best value sports sunglasses on the market for ANY sport.

Featuring 100% UVA / UVB protection, these polycarbonate glasses benefit from an especially high-quality, wrap-around frame design that blocks unwanted and annoying light and wind from the sides. The scratch-resistant lenses are de-centred, which negates the possibility of distortion caused by the lens curvature. Conforming to US ANSI Z80.3 and British and European safety standard EN1836, our sunglasses are subjected to a drop-test at the factory, and offer great protection against flying debris should you suffer a mishap. All of our glasses carry the renowned European Union 'CE' compliance mark.

The interchangeable lenses are: yellow (category 1) low light - these actually enhance light and contrast; beige (category 2), polarised, average sunlight; (category 3) polarised, bright sunlight; dark smoked (category 4), very bright conditions.

All glasses come with 4 x sets of lenses as standard, a cleaning cloth and a carry case with belt clip and internal compartments for housing the extra lenses. Our latest stock also includes a neck / head strap.

INNOVATION PLUS Prescription Sunglasses for RC Use

Innovation Plus provide all the benefits of our standard Innovation frames, but with two sets of polarised lenses for significant glare reduction. As with the standard Innovation glasses, the 'Plus' frames feature a polycarbonate clip that houses a pair of prescription lenses, slotted into a tough polycarbonate frame with rubber side arm inserts and nose pieces for an ultra-comfortable fit. The four sets of interchangeable lenses provided - Cat 0 (light-enhancing), Cat 2 (beige polarised, for general use), Cat 3 (smoked grey polarised, for bright light conditions) and Cat 4 (dark smoked, for very bright condiitons) - clip onto this at the top. A spring mechanism ensures a sturdy fit, and also allows the front lens to be flipped-up if necessary for transmitter adjusting, or when in the pits.

As with all of our other glasses, Innovation Plus conform to US ANSI Z80.3 plus British and European Safety Standard BS1836. They offer 100% UVA / UVB protection, and will significantly reduce the chances of a serious eye injury in the event of a crash. Each pair comes complete with the three sets of lenses, a carry case and a cleaning cloth as standard. The anti-scratch coated lenses are de-centred, which means they are calibrated to remove the potentially distorted viewing you would normally get from a curved lens.

IMPORTANT NOTE -When wearing Innovation Plus, some users may find they cannot see certain types of LCD or other electronic / digital transmitter displays. This is a normal cause of wearing polarised glasses. We recommend using the glasses with the front section flipped up, or the glasses removed, when model trimming prior to use.

WILL THEY WORK FOR ME? - If you have a prescription (SPH) requirement that's less than plus or minus 4.00, our glasses will work just fine for you. Stronger prescriptions can cause distortion, due to the curvature of the tinted lenses when placed in front of the flat prescription clip. The de-centring calibration loses its effect where stronger prescriptions are required. If you have a requirement greater than plus or minus 4, please do not buy these glasses. Bi-focals, varifocals and prismatic lenses can be added - if in doubt, please consult your optician for advice.

ADDING LENSES - Prescription lenses can be added to these glasses by any reputable optician. In the UK, our friends Axis Optical have been successfully adding lenses to our glasses at prices typically 50% of those found in the high street, for three years. We highly recommend their expert service - call 0114 2728993 to find out more. Axis Optical charge £30.00 for a basic prescription, and £55.00 for bifocals. Please note that Axis Optical cannot fit varifocals or prismatic lenses by mail order - you are welcome to visit their premises in Sheffield to have these measured, otherwise please use your local optician instead.
